Healing begins with feeling understood...
You’ve carried so much for so long — the memories, the fear, the exhaustion, the pressure to keep going. You don’t have to do it alone anymore.
I offer specialist psychological therapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, low mood, relationship problems, and long‑standing emotional patterns that feel hard to shift. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence‑based trauma modalities that help you feel safe, seen, and supported.
You deserve a space where your story is honoured and your healing is possible.
About me
Dr Dilhara Vithanage DCPsych (UK), MSc (UK), FHEA
Chartered Counselling Psychologist
I am an HCPC-registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist and I provide high quality psychological therapy to adults (aged 18+). I specialise in treating PTSD and Complex PTSD. I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, grief as well as those who are navigating their ASD/ADHD diagnosis.
My work is grounded in compassion, clinical expertise, and a deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives. I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and attuned - a place where you can slow down, breathe, and finally explore the parts of your story you’ve had to carry alone.
In therapy, I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach. I draw from EMDR, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, and other models to tailor treatment to each person’s needs. My goal is always to create a safe and supportive space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Over the past decade, I have worked across NHS services, universities, community organisations, and international settings. Prior to working in the UK, I worked in Sri Lanka in various mental health settings. These experiences have strengthened my appreciation for cultural diversity and the many different ways people make sense of their lives, relationships, and emotional worlds.
I am committed to walking alongside you at your own pace—helping you explore your experiences, develop new perspectives, and build a more grounded and fulfilling way of being.
